Charles “Chuck” Clay Trowbridge, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away from an Acute Subdural Hematoma on August 29, 2025.
Chuck was born in Greencastle, Indiana to Gene & Margaret (Clay) Trowbridge on June 2, 1950. He was an only child. He went to school in Plainfield, Indiana. He married Linda Jean Harman on April 28, 1973, in Springfield, Illinois.
Chuck went to school at Indiana State University and worked as a police officer for 28 years on the Indianapolis Police Department (IPD) where he received a number of awards and accommodations that are too numerous to list. Just a few of these include the Seal of the City of Indianapolis Certificate of Commendations, the Governor's 20 Award, and multiple Unit Citations for investigations.
Chuck was also a certified EMT. He retired from IPD in 1999 as a Lieutenant. Chuck also served in the National Guard for 7 years. After retiring from IPD he worked for the Public Agency Training Council (PATC) as a National Law Enforcement Training Coordinator for 2 years. He traveled all over the US assisting with training classes for other police officers. He then went to work for Ensystex (a pest control company).
Chuck wanted a total change from what he had done all the years prior. He learned the business and ended up becoming the Regional Manager Western USA including Hawaii and Japan. He even traveled to Australia and Thailand for the company. Chuck officially retired from working in 2015.
Chuck was also a member of the Calvin Prather Masonic Lodge and the Murat Shrine for over 50 years. He recently had his 50-year celebration for both the Masonic Lodge and the Shrine. He was also a member of the American Legion for over 10 years.
Chuck also recently got back into art, which he did growing up. He started drawing with colored pencils, did many pet portraits and then moved into drawing people. Then, taught himself to do watercolor paintings. He was also a member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana.
