Vickie Polson (Plew) VIEW PROFILE

Vickie Polson (Plew)

Sadly, Vickie passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4th.  Hugs of comfort to Vicky Honey Brosmer who was her best friend since Kindergarten for notifiing us of her passing.  Below is a photo of Vickie with the FBLA group...  . ..

Vickie Sue Plew (Polson) was a beautiful woman, friend, mother and Nana. She was born January 21, 1950 at home in Tompkinsville, KY to Lucille and Jack Polson at less than 5 pounds. She's been strong and fierce since that day.

Nana graduated from Plainfield High School in 1968 and attended Aristotle College for two years until the school closed its doors.

Nana always found joy in and was proud of her work at Preston Safeway where she managed for 20 years. She then was a Unit Secretary at Wishard Hospital for 15 years.

If Nana wasn't singing, cooking or crafting at her sewing table, you could have found her at the movie theater, out shopping or painting ceramics. She taught her family humility, kindness, selflessness and forgiveness. She taught them that jewelry that turned your skin green was still pretty jewelry.

Nana passed away in her home in Lebanon on Sunday, April 4, 2021. She is survived by her daughters Angela (Dallas) Dopko and Wendy (Jason) Wolf; her grandchildren Morgan (Cody) Wetli, Schyler (Michael) Greene, Gavin (Gillian) Wolf, Regan Dopko, Cameron Wolf, and Caleigh Wolf; and her great-grandchildren Haleigh Greene and Maren Wetli. She is also survived by her brother David (Jeannie) Polson, her sister-in-law Teri Polson, her best friend of 66 years Vicky Honey Brosmer, her ex-husband Ronald Plew, her best friends Jayne Mathews and Linda Plew, and many cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Lucille Polson, her brother Jack D. Polson and her niece Stephaine Amos Polson.

In lieu of flowers, the family would love rose bushes, clematis, or other garden perineal plant to create a garden in Nana's honor.

I am embarrassed to admit I did not recall Vickie when I read Carol's message. However, "a picture is worth a thousand words" as they say and when I saw her in the FBLA photo my memory cache was spurred. I'm so sorry to read that her illnesses caused her so much pain. May she rest in peace and may Vicky Honey Brosmer find a measure of comfort during this difficult transition.

May she rest in deep peace. I am sorry I never took the opportunity to get to know her when I had the chance. The memories shared of her describe such a lovely person. Blessings on the family however belated.
