MOORESVILLE - Raymond Eugene "Gene" Kennedy, 27, of Mooresville, died Saturday evening in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis.
He was a victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Charles W. Baker, Hendricks County coroner.
Mr. Kennedy was a 1968 graduate of Plainfield High School. He was employed by the Federal Mogul Corporation here.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his father, Kenneth Kennedy of Plainfield; a daughter, Jennifer, at home; a son Raymond Logan of California; foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cummings of Plainfield; four brothers, Donald Kennedy of Plainfield, William Kennedy of Mooresville, Russell Cummings of Florida, and Karl Cummings of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Janice Pedigo of Indianapolis and Claudia Caldwell of Clayton, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gibson of Plainfield, who also survive.
Services were today in Hall-Baker Funeral Home at Plainfield. The Rev. Donald Endsley officiated.
Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
