WEST LAFAYETTE - Services will be Tuesday for Sylvia K. Brown, 31, who died Thursday night in St. Elizabeth Hospital at West Lafayette from injuries suffered after being struck by a car as she was walking in West Lafayette.
A 1968 graduate of Plainfield High School, she was born August 13, 1950, at New Albany, daughter of William and Harriet Duke Brown and was a member of the Methodist Church, Chapter K of P.E.O. Sisterhood at Terre Haute and also Tri-Kappa Sorority at Terre Haute.
Miss Brown received a bachelor of science degree and a master of foreign language degree from Indiana State University and was attending Purdue University while studying for a second masters degree in inter-personal communications. Miss Brown was also a graduate assistant teacher at Purdue.
Surviving are her parents of rural Danville; sister, Mrs. Cynthia Mount of Scottsburg; two brothers, Russ of New Albany and Kevin of Sullivan, and a grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Gruelle of Jacksonville, FL.
Services will be at 10 AM in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home at Plainfield. The Rev. Charles Myers will officiate.
Burial will be at 1:30 PM in Graceland Memorial Cemetery at Albany.
Friends my call at Hampton-Gentry from 4 to 9 PM Monday.
