In Memory

Ann Dohogne (Jaimet)

Ann Dohogne (Jaimet)

Ann E. Dohogne Jaimet, 68 passed away peacefully on September 4, 2018.  Ann was born on March 19, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio as the daughter of Leo and Anna Mary Dohogne.

After graduating high school, Ann attended Indiana University where she received a Master's Degree in Education and also met her future husband of 45 years, Michael.  After receiving her degree from Indiana University, Ann went on to start her teaching career of almost 20 years where she taught at IPS and St. Joan of Arc.  After retiring from teaching, Ann continued her commitment to education by becoming a tutor and tutoring out of her and Michael's home.  Though teaching was very important to her, Ann's greatest title was Mom.  Family was everything to Ann and she loved her children and grandchildren dearly.  In Ann's spare time, she loved to travel.  Even if it was just a day trip to a close-by destination.  She enjoyed hiking and gardening outside and when she was at home she loved baking, knitting and reading.  Ann also volunteered at GiGi's Playhouse and was a part of the Women's Club at St. Joan of Arc.  She will be missed by all.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Dohogne.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Ellen (Matthew) Cobey, Matthew (Sarah) Jaimet:  grandchildren:  Jackson, Norah, and June;  brothers:  Leo (Bonnie) Dohogne III, and Edward (Diane) Dohogne; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, September 9 from 4-6p at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park North.  A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc on Monday, September 10 at 10a.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joan of Arc School.

As tears roll down my face,
I know you're in a better place.
I close my eyes to see your face,
suddenly I feel a warm embrace.
With a smile so wide
it brings tears to my eyes.
I try so hard not to cry
all of my pain I cannot hide.
You always knew just what to say
to anyone having a bad day.
I don't know if I will ever understand
but it must be part of God's plan.
As I look up towards the blue sky
I imagine you spreading your wings to fly.
Be sure to give your children a sign
so they know you are in Heaven,
and everything is fine.
Tell everyone there I send my love,
to all of the Angels up above.
As the tears roll down my face
I know you are in a better place.
RIP Ann
I will miss you so.

While I did not know Ann very well, I can remember her as a beautiful young woman with a warm smile, a calming demeanor and a sweet disposition. I am glad that she is no longer suffering. Rest on peace our friend.

I lit a candle for Ann yesterday, on the day of her birth. I felt like she was with me all day. She was a true earth angel and is very much missed.

Rest in deep peace dearest Ann. John Rutter's Gaelic Blessing for Dear Ann:
