Pamela Anderson (Hassel)

Pamela Anderson Hassel   December 5, 1949 - January 6, 2017

Pam passed away in the hospital in Slidell, Louisiana, after suffering a stroke.  She had been ill since September 2016 but many specialists and Drs. could never determine the source of her illness.  She lived at home and suffered a stroke on December 26,  2016.  She was taken to the hospital and passed away 11 days later.  She is survived by her husband, Ralph and two sons.

Ralph and Pam met at Burger Chef in Plainfield.  Both worked there - he, as a Manager and she, as a 'closer'.  This didn't mean she mopped floors but rather reconciled the cash registers and inventory each night.  In fact, it was unusual for a high school girl to hold that position at Burger Chef.  As Ralph related to me, Pam was the experiment.  It was due to her hard work and conscientious nature that got her that position.  It worked out both personally and professionally and they soon married.

Pam requested no obituary so this information was graciously shared with me by Pam's husband, Ralph.  Although he claimed to have a foggy memory, the Burger Chef was a topic that brought fond memories of their life together.

I had talked to Pam in May of 2013 as we were planning our 45th reunion.  She was so sorry she wasn't going to be able to come but thought that the 50th reunion might be something they could plan to attend.  She will be missed and we will remember and honor her at our 50th.

Pam was one of the sweetest girls in the class.  An angel has earned her wings.

Thanks, Carol, for taking the time to check and finding Pam's husband. I remember Pam as being very nice and a hard worker. I wish I could remember more. RIP, Pam.

I remember Pam very well, due to she lived just down the road from us.  We had a lot of great time together especially during the summer month.  Lot of wonderful memories.  But Heaven now has a new Angel with beautiful wings.  Rest in Peace my dear friend.

I too, remember Pam from riding the school bus and school itself.  I did not live far from her and remember summers, and church gatherings.  She was a very sweet person and God has received another angel from our Class of 68.
